PLANTS
The Proagroin Foundation has a Plant in San Carlos for the pineapple, roots and tubers packing. It is located 2 KM northwest from Pital downtown. It is 11.787 m² and has a 1.182 m² building for laundry and packing.
At the moment, the plant is in the conditioning phase to establish the additional operation of pineapple, in order to achieve a combined and independent operation of the roots and tubers line of packing, each one with its respective tunnels of pre-cooling and cooling room.
Additionally to the above-mentioned, the roots multure services to others to export expect a volume of exports of 4 containers per week, for a total of 115.200 boxes per week. This will mean multure concept revenues for around US $1,00/box of 18 kilos.
In reference to pineapple, for the year 2005, is expected to process 74 containers, in the year 2006, 640 containers and in the year 2007, 910 pineapple containers.
Seven permanent people and seasonal employees are required for the operative and administrative system of the plant according to the flow of containers. |
